Ketubah recording the marriage of the groom Aharon son of Moshe Cohen with the bride Dinah daughter of Moshe Cohen. Yazd, Adar 1822. Early ketubah, written on thick high-quality paper. Framed with floral ornamentation. At the top is a cypress tree flanked by peacocks. These are surrounded by professionally drawn flowers – poppies and anemone flowers, with leaves and stems. At the bottom is a Tosefet Ketubah in Judeo-Persian with many signatures. Among them is the signature of “Shmuel son of R’ Or” [descendant of the Or Shraga and a Yazd sage]. 48X60 cm. Fair-good condition. Several open tears, with damage to text. Folding marks. Stains. Tears, some restored (on the verso of the leaf).
