Embroidered Talith (praying shawl). [Italy, late 19th or early 20th century].
Silk; embroidery.
An oblong ivory silk Talith, striped in blue and white, with silk fringes and Tzitzioth. A large embroidery of bouquets of flowers and leaves (carnations and roses) appear on the four corners of the Talith. The Hebrew letters Alef and Lamed are embroidered in the center of the top margin.
210X110 cm. Fair condition. Tears, open tears. Defects, unraveling. Stains.
