Two Yiddish magazines – Kharkov / Kiev, Petrograd, 1917-1918
1. Erd un Arbeit [Land and Work] – newspaper published by the Central Committee of “Tzeiri Zion.”
Kharkov and Kiev, 1918. Issues 2-22, not bound in order. Yiddish, with an illustrated newspaper headline. Issues 2-5 were printed in Kharkov, the remainder in Kiev. The beginning of Hebrew printing in Kharkov in 1917.
Between 20-30 pages per issue, 33.5 cm.
Good condition. The first pages are torn. In several of the issues, the margins are cut. Library stamps.
2. Yiddishe Folksblat . Petrograd [St. Petersburg], 1917. Issues 2-10 bound together. Yiddish. Includes work by Shalom Aleichem, Shalom Ash, and others.
Approximately 30 pages in each issue, 31 cm.
Good condition. Library stamps. Stains and small tears in the margins.
