Announcement No. 1. Proclamation by the force commander of the defense forces in the Shomron district, the Sharon and Gush Dan, 5 Iyar 1948.
“At the time of… the fateful battle… I call upon all residents… to make an extreme effort to push the enemy to defeat… Commencing today, all men and women and their belongings will abide by the orders of the defense forces in their area…”
