Silver Salt Shaker of the "Beit Midrash of the Rabbi The Tsaddik of Dzikow
Salt shaker, marked silver (Austria, circa the late 19th century) with an engravedHebrew inscription: "Of the Beit Midrash of the Tsaddik of Dzikow". This most likely refers to the Rebbe Rabbi Yehoshua of Dzikow author of 'Ateret Yeshuah' (died in 1913) or his son and heir the Rebbe Rabbi Alter of Dzikow, who perished in 1943 during the Holocaust.
The salt shaker was most likely given as a gift by the Gabai of the Beit Midrash to a philanthropist who was close to the Rebbe and supported his Beit Midrash. It is also most likely that the Rebbe himself used the salt shaker during a Tish.
Height: 12cm. Width: 13cm.
