A large, impressive collection of document from the Jews of Morocco, including among others: last wills and testaments, lists, letters, Torah novellae, drafts and more. At the time, approximately 10,000 Jews had lived in Tanger.
Some of the documents are signed. Some of the letters are written in Ladino.
The collection includes:
A long interesting letter on the official stationery of "Beit Din Tzeddek of the city of Tenger". 1946.
A document from the city of Marrakesh, signed by two of the rabbis of Morocco, one of them being Rabbi Shlomo ibn Machluf Amsalem. A short addition handwritten and signed by Rabbi Efrayim Shalom Ankava (1886-1965) Dayan and Moreh Tzeddek of Marrakesh and Rosh Av Beit Din of Uzda, Morocco. Stamp of the rabbinate.
Several promissory notes signed by Rabbi Akiva Snanitz and Rabbi Yitzchak Ha'Cohen (maybe a copying).
Documents signed by Rabbi Machluf Alkoby.
Documents signed by Rabbi Yamin Ha'Cohen the rabbi of Tanger (from the years 1942, 1946).
A document signed by Rabbi Avraham Aferiat.
And many more documents, some with signature that have not been studied.
Approximately 40 letters and documents. Most of them from the early 20th century.
Condition: Good. Several documents are torn.
