Holocaust Banknote, the Flossenbürg Camp - Germany, 0.5 Mark - Graded 40 XF by PMG - 1943-1944 - Rare
The Flossenbürg camp was a concentration camp built by the Nazis in 1938 near Oberpfälzer Wald, Bavaria.
About 90,000 people were imprisoned in the camp during the war; at least 30,000 of them perished. Although the camp was expanded time and again, the number of its prisoners was always much higher than its capacity. The living conditions were unbearable, leading to the death of many.
On April 20, 1945, the camp was finally evacuated. Its commander, Max Koegel ordered a Death March to Dachau. About 5000 bodies of prisoners were found after the war along the trail of the Death March.
Condition: Graded 40 XF by PMG.
