Rabbi Mordechai Luria, author of "Zion Be'Mishpat", was one of the leading scholars of Jerusalem. He authored the book "Milchement Yavatz" and other polemic writings against the book "Chemdat Yamim". He was a kabbalist who studied with Rabbi Yehuda ben Rabbi Shlomo Ha'Cohen author of "Ashmoret Ha'Boker". He also authored the "Divrei Mordechai" responsa –on the four sections of the Shulchan Aruch.
