Mayim Rabim – the Rare Book by the Brothers Rabbi Nissan and Rabbi Yosef Gertenberg – 1883
Mayim Rabim. First section on Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah. By "the well-known pleasant brothers" Rabbi Nissan of Frilik, Russia and Rabbi Yosef, who served as rabbi of three communities of Moldova. Czernowitz, 1883. Single edition (a facsimile edition was printed in recent years).
A rare book. Does not appear in the National Library.
In his approbation to the book, Rabbi Binyamin Aryeh Ha'Cohen Weiss wrote: "It is appropriate that this book be distinguished among the important compositions that were published in our generation".
A long, fascinating preface by Rabbi Yoseg Gertenberg describing his and his brother's biography.
75 leaves. A "Table of Errors" is printed at the end of the book.
Condition: Good. Minor, clean moth signs. Time stains. Slightly loose binding.
