MUSIC AND THEATER - RISTORI Adelaide (1822 - 1906) - Italian actress - Autograph letter signed, dated “Trieste il 27 Aprile 54” by the celebrated Italian theater actress. At age fourteen, she made her first success as Francesca da Rimini in Silvio Pellico's tragedy of the same name. At eighteen she was playing Mary Stuart in an Italian version of Friedrich Schiller's play of the same name. She had been a member of the Sardinian company and also of the Ducal company at Parma for some years before her marriage to Giuliano Capranica, marquis del Grillo, in 1846. Addressed to a friend artist, communicating her sorrow to: “…per non aver potuto conoscere personalmente una persona della gentilezza del Sig. Cabianca (…) Riguardo alla sua produzione ti parlerò sincera, ma in confidenza. Righetti ha speso molto in produzione avute nell’anno scorso ed in quest’anno ha già dovuto stabilire fr. 3000 pel concorso di Torino.
