MUSIC AND THEATER - AUBER Esprit Daniel François (1782 - 1871) - Autograph letter signed - Le Cheval de Bronze - Known since 1806 for his chamber music and concertos, he turned to the theatre from 1812 and wrote numerous works, operas and comic operas, in collaboration with Scribe: Manon Lescaut (1856). He was Director of the Paris Conservatoire (1842) and Master of the Imperial Chapel (1857). Autograph letter signed and dated “mercredi”: ”Si ces dames veulent accepter notre petit dîner aujourd'hui, de là elles iront au Cheval de Bronze…”.
