MUSIC AND THEATER - MAGYAR Gabriel (1914 - 2011) - Signature on a programme - Hungarian cellist - He studied at the Franz Liszt Royal School of Music with, among others, Zoltan Kodaly. After the war, he went to South America, then to the United States where he played as soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the University of Oklahoma. In 1956 he became a member of the Hungarian String Quartet, with whom he played for 16 years. In 1972, he became professor of cello at the University of Illinois. Signature on a programme for the Vevey theatre 22.01.1971, along with signature of violinists Zoltan Szekely and Michael Kuttner, altist Denes Koromzay. - This lot is under temporary import in the UK. 5% VAT is due if delivered in the UK.
