MUSIC AND THEATER - LAMOUREUX Charles (1834 - 1899) - Autograph letter signed - French conductor - He studied violin at the conservatoire in Pau. After attending a Handel festival in England, in 1873 he created the orchestra that would bear his name and conducted it in a performance of Handel's Messiah. He was second conductor of the Conservatooire and first conductor of the Paris Opéra.
