A richly carved walnut 'Renaissance' throne seat with a depiction of Jacob fighting the angel on the back, and annotated 'Her Ich Las Dich Nicht'. The back is upholstered with capitonné red velvet, as are the armrests and seat. Germany, mid-19th century. Back height 150 cm. Width 80 cm. Depth 90 cm. Seat height 50 cm.
