Brustbildnis des sächsischen Kurfürsten August I. von Sachsen, genannt ”der Starke”, als König von Polen-Litauen August II. (1670-1733), dargestellt ist der Herrscher mit üppiger Allongeperücke und Rüstung, mit über die Schulter gelegtem Hermelinmantel und dem Orden vom Goldenen Vlies, Pastell auf Papier und auf Leinwand mit ovalem Holzrahmen gespannt, Ende 19. Jh., rechts teils von der Rahmung verdeckte Signatur „R. H. Armbruster“, minimalst berieben, hinter Passepartout mit ovalem Bildausschnitt und unter Glas gerahmt (bestoßen), Maße Bildausschnitt ca. 66,5 x 47 cm. Künstlerinfo: auch Heinrich Rudolph Armbruster bzw. in Frankreich Rudolphe Henri Armbruster, dt. Pastellmaler (geboren 1862 in Altenheim/Baden bis 1914 erwähnt), Kindheit in Villingen, studierte ab 1888 an der Münchner Akademie bei Nikolaus Gysis, tätig in Paris, stellte 1891-1914 im Pariser Salon aus, Quelle: Thieme-Becker, AKL, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Bénézit, Matrikel der Münchner Akademie und Internet.

Breast portrait of the Saxon Elector August I of Saxony, called "the Strong", as King of Poland-Lithuania August II (1670-1733), the ruler is depicted with a luxurious allonge wig and armour, with an ermine coat over his shoulder and the Order of the Golden Fleece, pastel on paper and stretched on canvas with an oval wooden frame, late 19th century, Signature "R. H. Armbruster" partially concealed by the framing on the right, minimally rubbed, framed under glass (bumped) behind passepartout with oval picture section, dimensions of the picture section approx. 66.5 x 47 cm. Artist information: also Heinrich Rudolph Armbruster or in France Rudolphe Henri Armbruster, German pastel painter (born 1862 in Altenheim/Baden, mentioned until 1914), childhood in Villingen, studied from 1888 at the Munich Academy under Nikolaus Gysis, active in Paris, exhibited 1891-1914 at the Paris Salon, source: Thieme-Becker, AKL, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Bénézit, register of the Munich Academy and Internet.
