Vietnam Saigon 'Bank of East Asia' Bill of Exchange 60 Shanghai Dollars China
This rare bill of exchange, issued by The Bank of East Asia Ltd. on June 4th, 1936, represents a unique piece of East Asian financial history. Denominated in Shanghai currency, this bill was issued in Saigon and payable to the bearer on demand, reflecting the early financial links between China and Southeast Asia.
The bill displays intricate design elements, including the Bank's emblem prominently embossed on the left side, surrounded by traditional East Asian floral motifs, and detailed Chinese and English inscriptions.
