A CHINESE WHITE JADE DRAGON PENDANT, WESTERN HAN DYNASTY (206 BC-9 AD) - An elegant white jade dragon pendant, finely carved with a powerful dragon head and a gracefully curved body adorned with raised spiral motifs. The openwork design and dynamic form symbolize strength, protection, and prosperity. Height 10.7 cm. PROVENANCE From a private Canadian collection. Formerly from Mr. Huang Zhi-Ming, a Taiwanese private collector. Mr. Huang acquired the jade pieces in Hong Kong. Some from Mr. Lai Loy (1926 - 2012), a jade dealer on Hollywood Road well known for handling and supplying archaic jade pieces to collectors, museums and other dealers and some some from private collectors in Hong Kong.
