A CHINESE JADE OF A HUMAN FIGURE, NEOLITHIC PERIOD, (c. 3300–2600 BC) - A rare greenish jade figure from the Neolithic period, masterfully carved in an abstract standing posture with hands resting on the hips. The figure features a distinctive trapezoid headrest, expressive facial features, and a smooth polished surface enriched by natural age patina. Height 6 cm. PROVENANCE From a private Canadian collection. Formerly from Mr. Huang Zhi-Ming, a Taiwanese private collector. Mr. Huang acquired the jade pieces in Hong Kong. Some from Mr. Lai Loy (1926 - 2012), a jade dealer on Hollywood Road well known for handling and supplying archaic jade pieces to collectors, museums and other dealers and some some from private collectors in Hong Kong.
