Lancere Evgeny Evgenievich (1875, Pavlovsk -1946, Moscow).
He studied in Paris, in the private academies of Colarossi (1895-1896) and Julien (1896-1897), but in general, he was formed as a painter under the influence of his uncle, painter A. Benois, and his circle. Lanceret was one of the most eminent figures of the artistic association “World of Art”. He worked as a book illustrator and designer, as monumental artist, one of the originators of the Soviet monumental painting. Also, Lanceret was a draughtsman and aquarellist, theatre painter and master of easel painting in different genres. The E.E. Lanceret’s pictures and plafonds embellish the buildings of the Kazan Railway Station, the Memorable Hall of the Academy of Arts and Moskva Hotel. His works are kept in all the principal museums of Russia, including the Tretyakov State Gallery and the State Russian Museum
