Hamdamov Rustam Usmanovich (1944, Tashkent).
Artist, director, script-writer. Graduated from the All-Russia State Institute of Cinematography, G.N. Chukhray Master-class. Author of the bunch of works that got to be the event not only for Russian but for the World Cinema – among those ‘My heart at the highlands’, ‘Unexpected joys’ and ‘Anna Karamazoff’ – the film which got the high evaluation of the critics at the Cannes Festival in 1991. Created the sketches of jewelry for the High Fashion Houses in Milan, Paris and New-York, designed the jewelries for the American Company ‘Russian World Gallery’. At he beginning of the 1990 th was living in Paris during two years by the invitation of the Mayor, where has been considered as the best artist of the World for the period of 1991-1996. In 1996 was granted with the ‘Triumph’ Prize as the director, designer and script-writer. (The ‘Triumph’ Prize Winner). For the first time in Russian history, in 2003 the works of R. Hamdamov were included to the Hermitage Collection during the artist’s life. In 2004 won the Prize ‘Cultural Property of the Nation’. The works of R. Hamdamov are kept at the State Tretyakov Gallery, at the Galleries of London, Paris and many private collections in Russia and abroad. The personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Rostov (2001), Moscow (2001, 2004), London (2001), Saint-Petersburg (2004), Odessa (2004) and Vladikavkaz (2004).
