Romadin Nikolay Mikhailovich (1903, Samara – 1987, Moscow).

People's Artist of the USSR. Full member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Laureate of the Stalin Prize for the series of landscapes "Volga - Russian River" (1946), laureate of the Lenin Prize in 1980 for a cycle of landscapes. Studied at the Samara Art College, then in Moscow at VKHUTEMAS/VKHUTEIN (1923 - 1930) under R.R. Falk, I.I. Mashkov, A.D. Drevin. From 1929 - member of the AKhRR. Was a member of the ROST group of young artists. Participant of exhibitions since 1931. In 1930, he painted mainly genre scenes. Since 1938, lyrical landscapes became the main theme. He adopted the ideological principles of the Union of Russian Artists, which sought to transform natural impressions into a symbolic "Image of Russia". N. M. Romadin's works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and the Australian Museum of Art in Melbourne.
