Vasiliev Anatoly Ilyich (1917 - 1994)
Soviet artist, painter, member of the Leningrad organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR. In 1950 he graduated from the Repin Institute of Fine Arts in the workshop of Viktor Oreshnikov. In 1951-1953 he studied in the creative workshop of B.V. Ioganson. He worked as vice-rector and acting rector of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In 1950-1960 he made creative trips to the Russian North, went to Lake Baikal, Buryatia, Gurzuf. Since 1950 - a regular participant in city, republican, all-Union and international exhibitions. In 1970-1980 he participated in exhibitions of contemporary Soviet art in Japan, in 1989-1992 his works were exhibited at exhibitions and auctions of Russian painting L' Ecole de Leningrad in France. The artist's personal (posthumous) exhibition took place in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR on Okhta in St. Petersburg in 1995. The artist's works are in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Moscow State University Museum, the Museum of the Revolution in Moscow, in regional museums of Russia, as well as in private collections.
