Golovin Alexander Yakovlevich (1863 - 1930)
He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1881-1890) with V.E. Makovsky, V.D. Polenova, I.M. Pryanishnikov, at the F. Colarossi Academy (Paris) with J.-E. Blanchet (1889), in Vitti's workshop with R. Collen and O. Merson (1892). In 1890 he received the title of artist, from 1912 - academician, full member of the Academy of Arts (St. Petersburg). Since 1897 he has been working in the theater. Since 1901 - chief decorator of the Imperial Theaters (St. Petersburg). Member of the association "World of Art" (since 1902), member of the Union of Russian Artists (since 1903), participant in exhibitions of the Moscow Association of Artists (since 1893), the Association of the Wanderers (1893, 1895), the Moscow Society of Art Lovers (1894-1898), "World of Art" (since 1899), "36 Artists" (1902), Union of Russian Artists (1903-1910, 1916), the New Society of Artists (1907, 1908) and others. People's Artist of the RSFSR since 1928.
