Descripton: Provenance: the first owner of the work was the famous artist, Hollywood screenwriter and director, art collector Jean Negulesco. After his death in 1993, his heirs began to sell off his impressive collection. In 2009, the painting took part in Sotheby’s auction in New York. The new owner of the painting was one of the oldest art galleries in London, Leicester Galleries (founded in 1902), which three years later put it up for auction at Sotheby’s in London.

Chagall Marc Zakharovich (1887-1985)
Russian and French artist. In addition to graphics and painting, he also worked on stage design and wrote poetry in Yiddish. One of the most famous representatives of the artistic avant-garde of the 20th century. Chagall created his own unique style in painting, and also made frescoes and stained glass windows, designed theatrical costumes and scenery, illustrated books and wrote them himself.
