These pieces, with a marked influence from the Sevillian school of Murillo, stand out for their expressive depth and careful anatomical representation, reflecting the mastery in the execution of textures and the drama characteristic of the Andalusian Baroque. The iconography of the martyrdom of the saints was especially relevant during the Counter-Reformation, responding to the desire to transmit a sincere and emotional devotion through striking scenes. The frames are profusely decorated with geometric and floral motifs, in keeping with the Baroque style.
