17th Century Italian School - The Dream of the Child Jesus.
Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 56 x 43 cm. The work presents the Virgin Mary in an attitude of adoration before the sleeping Baby Jesus, a composition of profound emotion and serenity. The scene highlights the delicate treatment of the features and the softness of the folds of the cloths, characteristic of the Italian style of the time, evoking an intimate and contemplative moment. The chiaroscuro technique emphasizes the devotional atmosphere, highlighting the symbolism of the light that surrounds both characters. This work is framed with a gold molding, in keeping with the style of the 17th century.
