French School of the 19th Century - Group of fisherwomen on the seashore
Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 103 x 81 cm. Signed "V. Bellmond" in the lower right corner. This oil painting, also signed by V. Bellmond, depicts a group of fisherwomen on a day of low tide, revealing the painter's skill in capturing light and traditional details. The composition, dominated by soft colour transitions and a subtle description of reflections on the wet sand, evokes the style of French artists who depicted coastal life with a lyrical sensibility, celebrating human endeavour in harmony with nature.
