Spanish School of the 18th Century - Virgin of Dress with Sacred Heart of Silver
Carved and polychrome wood with a silver Sacred Heart. Dimensions 50 × 16 × 14 cm. The Virgin of the Dress is presented standing, with a richly decorated dress and the silver Sacred Heart on her chest. Her expression reflects serenity and devotion, while she extends her arms in a gesture of supplication or blessing. This image, created for private or processional worship, is a clear example of the Spanish devotional style of the 18th century, which combined sculptural and textile elements in images of the dress.
