PC / Letter from “Najade” Steamer with stamp and image of the ship, 1901, sent to Selma Steiner in Pressburg - PC / Letter from “Najade” Steamer with stamp and image of the ship, 1901, sent to Selma Steiner in Pressburg Selma Steiner was a wife of Hermann Steiner, the Owner of a Publishing House and a Large Antiquarian Bookstore in Pressburg (Bratislava) Fair condition. The Najade was a paddle steamer owned by the Bremen shipping company Norddeutscher Lloyd (NDL) that served as a seaside resort ship in the North Sea. The ship, a side-wheel steamer with one chimney and two masts, was launched in April 1894 at F. Schichau's shipyard in Danzig The ship was put into service in May 1894 and served the routes from Bremerhaven to Helgoland and Norderney in the summer months. (We continued to Borkum and other East Frisian islands from Norderney with ships from AG Ems, founded in 1889). From 1898 onwards, the Naiad, like the Mermaid, moved to Naples for the winter months and conducted excursions to Sorrento, Ischia, Capri and the Blue Grotto
