Sefer Hakanah, The Press of the Holy Rav Rabbi Shlomo of Luck. Paritzk, 1786.

Sefer Hakanah, Tamei Mitzvot based on Kabbalah. The press of the holy Rav Rabbi Shlomo of Luck and his partners Elimelech of Loitzk and Avraham of Koretz, Paritzk, [1786]. Edited by a disciple of the Maggid of Mezeritch.

[1], 50, 49-130 leaves. 20 cm. Owner's signature on the title page: "שלמה קאסטיל". There are two Kabbalistic illustrations in the book.

The holy Rav Rabbi Shlomo of Lutzk, the Maggid of Lutzk (passed away in 1813) - Rav in Lutzk, Koretz and Sukal and one of the founders of the printery for distributing Kabbalistic and Chassidic books. Was a leading disciple of the Maggid of Mezeritch and the Rav of Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov and the Sar Sholom of Belz. The Maggid of Lutzk compiled the Torah of his Rav, publishing it in the book Maggid Devarav LeYaakov. He wrote two important forewords to this book, one about the virtue of Maran the Baal Shem Tov and the Maggid of Mezeritch and the other about the importance of the Mamarim included in the book. The Chozeh of Lublin wrote in his approbation that the Maggid of Lutzk was famed as the "הרב המגיד מישרים החריף ובקי בנגלה ונסתר קדוש ישראל".

New, semi-leather binding. Stains and moth holes. Blemishes to the first leaves that were professionally restored - some of the blemishes had affected the text. After the restoration, good condition.
