LARGE PORCELAIN WOOD GROUSE.
Meissen.
Maker/Designer: Model Erich Oehme, 1938.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours.
Description: Large figurine of a wood grouse on rectangular pedestral. The animal's tail feathers set
up in impressive fan. The wood grouse itself is taking a step, slightly leaning forward
and with opened beak. The wings are slightly brazed away from the body as if it would
demonstrate his dominance towards another bird.
Measurement: 37x35x40cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under glaze. Verso inscr. '1938, Erich Oehme'. Model number O252, porcelain former's mark 141.
Some tail feathers restored.
