Limoges: COPPER PYXIS WITH ANGELS
COPPER PYXIS WITH ANGELS.
Limoges.
Date: 13th c.
Technique: Gilt copper, enamel "champlevé".
Description: Cylindrical body with a conical, hinged lid. This is crowned by a small cross. Round
medallions with angels all round the wall, with tendrils in between.
Measurement: Height 11cm.
Upper cross arm on the lid broken off.
