PORCELAIN FIGURINE OF CUPID FEEDING THE NIGHTINGALES.
Meissen.
Maker/Designer: Model R. Hölbe, 1882-85.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours, golden.
Description: Round base with tree stump. Sitting on it, Cupid with his arrow feeding four young
nightingales. Hanging from the tree trunk is a harp with the inscription 'Philomele'.
Measurement: Height 41cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under glaze, painter's number: 18, model number: 195.
