A French Column Clock
France, ca. 1820. The sleek, gray marble has view clogs with gilded brass capitals and bases. The dial is set in a guilloche gilded brass lunette. The thin white enamel chapter ring surrounds a gilded center. The time is indicated by two blued steel Breguet hands. The movement has a duration of eight days and consists of going and striking trains on a bell. The going train has an anchor escapement and a richly decorated pendulum, height 41 cm.
