An yellow gold William Hunt chatelaine with pocket watch and charms, 18th century A very finely chiselled chåtelaine made by William Hunt from England stamped with master mark, London city mark and date letter G for 1742 and Dutch import mark (1813-1893) consists of four different parts richly decorated with rocailles, volutes, cherubs and dolphins with four different charms including a rock crystal swivle, a porcelain harlequin, a wax stamp with a dog and the text fidelle with a corneline intaglio of a dove of peace with the text La Paix (French stamped with hibou for 18 kt. foreign yellow gold) and a watch key (not fitting) with on one side three oval facetted chrysol beryls and on the other side three oval facetted garnets (French stamped with tête d'aigle for 18 kt yellow gold). The dust case of the pocket watch (Dutch hallmarked with the lion 1813 - 1906) with a depiction of David playing for Saul. The watch case has some restorations on the inside. The pocket watch (not functioning) is made by I.N. Willer and numbered 10012, the lid is stamped with the English lion, London city mark and date letter K: 1765. A similar copy can be found in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Case: 40 mm.
