SCYTHIAN ACINANES IRON DAGGER WITH GREEN STONE SCABBARD POINT
Ca. 500 - 400 BC. A lengthy forged iron dagger featuring a wide, flat handle, a curved semicircular pommel, and a broad guard. The long, hammered iron blade tapers to a sharp point, and the stone scabbard's tip is engraved with a griffon. For similar see: Or des Scythes. Trésors des musées soviétiques, Cat. 64.
