Russian Signature Silver Case w/ Inscription
Russian silver and gilt signature cigarette case with applied decorations. One side with an applied enamel crest, initials, a wild boar, two scrolls with etched names along the upper left and lower right, and further etched initials along the lower left. The other side with a fly heading towards a spiderweb flanked by two flowers, a blue cabochon stone along the center of the web, and applied signature along the upper right. With a blue cabochon stone clasp. Etched inscription in Cyrillic along the interior. Marked with an 84 Kokoshnik and maker's mark in two spots along the interior.

Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Height: 4 1/2 in x width: 3 in x depth: 1/2 in. Weight: 179.9g.
Condition: The case is in good condition in general with no major cracks, or visible losses. Wear throughout. No visible sign of restoration under UV light. Light oxidation throughout as expected; light discoloration due to oxidation. The round blue jewel is intact. To the right and left of the jewel, there is a minute crack on each side. There is a minor dent to the interior, which does not affect the overall appearance of the piece. The case opens well and clasps firmly. The case stays shut when clasped.
