Colonial sculpture of Saint Michael the Archangel, 16th century, from Goa. This figure is a clear example of the colonial sculptural tradition of the region, representing the saint in a triumphant attitude over the devil. Despite the defects in the arms, the piece retains its original majesty, standing out for the expressive force of the face and the elaborate gilded details, which emphasize the imposing nature of the saint. A magnificent example of the religious imagery of the period.
